I'm pretty interested in pioneer recipes. I'm amazed that folks can cook multi-course meals on one wood stove. The folks I know who grill meat today make a big deal out of cooking a few brats. So how did those women of old cook for large families on a wood stove? I'm impressed.

Hi Christie - great blog!

I know what you mean about Pioneer Pride = Utah goes CRAZY for pioneer stuff!

I'd love to find and try more pioneer recipes!

The feast was such a success that folks are talking about making it an annual event. Hope they do. It was lots of fun!

We really, *really* wanted to go to this, but we were just so worn out from work last week. I'm glad you had a good time and wrote up such a nice review.

We'll have to check out the Chalet Landhaus next time we're in New Glarus. The only place we've eaten there before was Glarner Stube, which was also very nice.
